When Jamal Ansari landed in the land of opportunities in 1976, all he had was $40 in his pocket and a big dream. Three years later, after enrolling in college and working many odd-end jobs, Jamal's dream became a reality.

In November 1979, he and his brothers opened the doors of The Mediterranean Cruise Cafe. Since then, Jamal has put his heart and soul into his striving business and forged a name for his family.

In 1979, the Ansari brothers from Jerusalem created and established the Mediterranean Cruise Cafe in Eagan, Minnesota. After years of working together, some of the brothers left the business to pursue other endeavors. From that point on, Jamal Ansari has been the sole owner of the Mediterranean Cruise Cafe.

In 2009, Jamal, along with his sons, Khalid and Rhami, relocated the restaurant to Burnsville where they built a beautiful, new restaurant. With their strong Mediterranean heritage behind them, Jamal and his sons have created many original delicacies from Jerusalem, Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, Italy, Turkey and Greece.

The Mediterranean Cruise Cafe is not only noted for its food, it's known for its unique weekend entertainment. Come for the food, stay for the belly dancing and salsa.

After years of hard work and dedication, the Mediterranean Cruise Cafe has been recognized as the one of the top restaurants in the Twin Cities.
